What is this all about?

#PedagooHull is coming again! After the last successful and well-received event held in May 2016, we’re bringing it back by popular demand. Once again, it will be a terrific opportunity for teacher empowerment, sharing practice and collaborative teacher-to-teacher learning experience. All teachers are invited and the event is of course free!

What happened last time…

Photos speak more than words… Last year, at PedagooHull16 in May 2016, more than 40 teachers turned up, giving up their time on Saturday. This is what we did!

Where will it take place?

#PedagooHull will take place on Saturday 14th May at the University of Hull, Kingston-upon-Hull.

What will it look like?

Pedagoo events are about learning conversations as opposed to a presentation approach. First, we  ask teachers to sign up to lead a learning conversation and then the event will be opened to everyone else, which is when you’ll be able to choose the learning conversations you want to attend. It won’t be a series of lectures, but a event full of learning conversations, where everyone is encouraged to be involved and be active rather than passive. Sharing practice in an informal friendly fashion sitting around a table. True Pedagoo spirit at work!

Programme for the Day

Tentative and subject to alterations, but planned to look as below:

One important difference between Pedagoo17 and the one last year is that it’s very likely this time we will not have the short TeachMeet sessions which kicked off the last day. Rather, we’re hoping to give you another batch of minimum 3 learning conversations to choose from!

Sounds amazing! How do I sign up?

#PedagooHull is now open for the submission of learning conversations. Anyone can submit a learning conversation – if it’s something you’ve tried out in your classroom, then others will want to hear about it. Learning conversations are thirty minutes in length and you are normally encouraged to share your practice for 15-20 minutes and then lead a discussion for the remainder of your time. Use of powerpoint is discouraged (but there are relevant IT facilities available, anyhow!)…we’re after conversations, not presentations. We aim to ensure that as well as leading your own conversation(s) that you’ll also get a chance to attend other people’s conversations also.

If you’re keen to give it a go, sign up now using the form below. If you’re not quite ready to lead a learning conversation but you want to be informed of when the event opens to all, scroll on down to the form underneath.

See you at the event!
