It’s about time we had another TeachMeet somewhere in Ayrshire – I’m thinking some time before the Easter break.

Anybody got any thoughts for date or venue?

More importantly, anybody got any thoughts on how to increase publicity and get more NEW faces along?

    Good stuff.

For the recent TeachMeets I’ve organised I’ve used the Scottish Schools Database to send an email to every single school in the area to be forwarded onto staff in schools. It’s quite labour intensive, but I’m convinced this helped get new faces along to both tmLothians11 and tmSLFringe12.

Thanks Fearghal. I wonder if there might be some mileage in building a mailing list for schools, perhaps grouped by LA, sector, etc?

I’ll see what I can put together for the Ayrshires and see how long that takes…..

If I was as geeky as I wish I was, I’d be able to write a script to extract the email addresses from that site and put them into a spreadsheet…but unfortunately I’m not, so I can’t.

It took about 40 mins to get all the East Ayrshire Primary & Secondary schools into an Outlook Mailing group, but at least two of the contacts given are out of date, being former HTs. I might be better off contacting the councils directly, asking them to publicise whatever we organise.

Drew, I was really sorry to miss the last one but just felt awful. Would really like to come o the next one. I know that Jenny, one of my primary colleagues is keen too. Perhaps the last week of feb? I will send an email round the rest of the staff. Alieon
