Making stronger links across the North sea? that would be fantastic.
I look forward to that, a lot.

One of my favourite elements of my #PedagooAdmin duties is  going hunting.

The @Pedagoo feed flashes up hundreds of great ideas a month and some may well get lost (an educational version of “Can’t see the woods […]

I think it is brilliant, obviously.

Now, should think of a name for it so you can “put it in the maybe pile” like you were going to do with the pedagooru?

eddiewhite commented on the post, Can Literacy in the Maths Classroom be Taken as Read? 7 months, 4 weeks ago

I thought you could come up with a God Idea there?

I think we both agree that Maths is a lot about communicating logical and numeracy. Hence why we cover so many of the literacy outcomes “for free”

    Not sure […]

I am with Fearghal here. Happy to be around but not really able to get much involved in this side of things.
Actually looks like pedagoo.org is going to keep me pretty busy with all these posts we are getting out […]

I posed a question, whilst sitting on the East Lothian coast line staring at the choppy waves. This was posed to fellow math and science teachers.

What Literacy do you cover, and how?

    The responses were wide […]

eddiewhite commented on the post, What did you do differently to improve results? 8 months, 2 weeks ago

Another point we need to realise is the statistics show where we are, not where we can be. For this reason, I would love to be ignore fail rates and try to get everyone to pass. Unfortunately the STACs will always […]

At the start of each year, there is a reflective discussion surrounding grades and success.

For many, there is an element of the “told you so!” happening in both directions.

Should someone who attained a […]

I have had a dig around and the exact figure is 17%. I will reflect this in an edit to the article. It is still a low chance when we are expected to have them all pass! Thanks for the comment.

eddiewhite commented on the post, Can we improve parental engagement by “teaching” them? 9 months, 3 weeks ago

    Thanks John,

I think we are all getting our heads around the whole CfE malarkey enough now to think about phase two, the one where we try and make learning at home.

I wonder if, had the exams stayed the […]

Thanks Kenneth, I always see pupil success to be like that fire triangle from chemistry. Instead of fire/air/fuel, it is pupil/parent/teacher (parent = any adult out of school)

The fact is that school is part […]

The staff room is an awful place sometimes. That is a place to vent frustration or even anger at events that have happened.

Quite often I find the frustration quite justified. We have all had complaints from […]

In my last post, I asked you to tell us all what your thoughts about sharing learning intentions were. All replies were going to be interesting as they reflect the Pedagoo Collective and not just one or two […]

Good points well delivered. I do think that there is a limit of where interactions between pupils and staff should be and I don’t see that we will ever swap mobile numbers with our pupils and hold text rallies 20 […]

eddiewhite wrote a new post, Pedagoo in my annual review. 11 months, 3 weeks ago

This was the week for my annual review. Way back, when I had more hair, I used to anticipate the meeting. What if my own view of my work was poorer than my PTs view? What about the (now annual) question about why […]

I don’t know if you recall the Bloom’s posts I made a few months ago? I opted to turn a list of statements in to some form of HGioS labels. The checklist is found here […]
